Women in Security: The New Pioneers

A.S.R.S. - Women In Security The New Pioneers

Women in Security are the new pioneers!

Amidst the chaos and fear of the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, there was one significant world-wide celebration on March 8, 2020, International Women’s Day. And as a Women Owned Small Business, we appreciate and reflect on the roles that women are playing in every industry, including security.

From Startups to Fortune 500. Women are Making Their Mark

While women are beginning to take on more executive roles within F500 and G2000 companies, there is still a gap when it comes to the security industry. In fact, women only make up roughly 11% of the cybersecurity workforce. By comparison, women account for 25% of the tech industry and 50% of professional occupations overall.

At the senior executive level, we are seeing women break the barrier. Particularly in Chief Information Security Officers. Some of the most recognized brands are bringing women into key security roles. Names like Verizon, Comcast, American Express, and Johnson & Johnson have all embraced the innovation and forward thinking that women bring to their information and security platforms.

We are proud to be a part of the growing number of women who are changing the roles of women in security.
